1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using DNSMint ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

DNSMint is a hostname registration service. An authenticated API call registers an IP address and returns a hostname under a domain we operate. Our authoritative nameservers serve the DNS records for that hostname.

We store account data, the hostnames and IP addresses you register, and DNS query metadata. We never proxy customer traffic: connections go directly from clients to your server, and we never terminate TLS, proxy packets, or meter bandwidth.

3. Use of the service

You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Register only IP addresses you control or are authorized to name
  • Not use hostnames for phishing, malware distribution, or attack infrastructure
  • Not use DNS records as a storage, tunneling, or exfiltration channel
  • Not attempt to circumvent rate limits, hostname caps, or abuse controls
  • Not resell or redistribute access to the Service without authorization

4. Data and privacy

Hostnames you register, the IP addresses attached to them, and metadata about DNS queries are stored as described in our Privacy Policy. DNS records you publish are public by design: anyone who queries a hostname can learn the registered IP address, and certificate issuance against a hostname is recorded in public certificate transparency logs.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to publish the IP addresses and records you register and that doing so complies with applicable laws and any agreements with third parties.

5. Service availability

DNSMint is provided "as is" without guarantees of uptime or availability, except where an SLA is included in your plan. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We are not liable for any loss resulting from Service interruptions.

6. Usage limits

DNS queries, API reads, and renewals are unlimited on every plan, subject to our fair use policy, which covers attacks and platform abuse only. Registration writes carry hard technical rate limits per API key. Each plan has a published cap on active hostnames. We reserve the right to modify limits with reasonable notice.

Certain features, including dedicated domains, custom labels, and the DNS-01 certificate API, are only available on paid plans.

7. Payment and billing

Paid plans are billed month to month in advance. Billing is per account.

Payments are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar is the legal seller for all paid subscriptions and handles billing, invoicing, tax collection, and payment processing on our behalf. Your invoices will come from Polar.

By purchasing a paid plan, you agree to Polar's Terms of Service for payment-related matters.

Adding or removing users from an organization does not affect subscription pricing.

Upgrades take effect immediately and may be prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

When a paid subscription ends, hostnames on dedicated domains stop resolving at the end of the billing period, and the dedicated domain is quarantined for at least 90 days before it can be assigned to anyone else.

Applicable taxes are automatically calculated and collected by Polar based on your location.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DNSMint and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

The Service provides DNS resolution for names you register. Uptime commitments, where offered, are limited to the SLA included in the Business plan. You are responsible for the availability of the servers your hostnames point to.

8A. What we do not do

To be clear, DNSMint does not:

  • Proxy, terminate, or inspect traffic to your hostnames
  • Sell your registration data or use it for advertising
  • Reuse a released or expired label for another customer
  • Issue or hold certificates or private keys on your behalf

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Enforcement normally follows the ladder described in the fair use policy; hostnames used for phishing or malware are taken down immediately. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and your hostnames stop resolving.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
